About Teknines
Teknines covers small audio gear — in-ear monitors, earphones, portable headphones — and the part of the chain most reviews skip: what happens to the sound before it reaches the driver.
What gets written about here
- Reviews of earphones and headphones, with the price you would actually pay today rather than the launch MSRP.
- Fit, tips and cables — the unglamorous things that decide whether a good earphone sounds good on your head, and how long it survives.
- Audio quality end to end: bitrates, codecs, and what streaming and social platforms do to a file before you hear it. A $200 earphone cannot recover information that was thrown away three steps earlier, and it is worth knowing where that happens.
How things get written
Specifications, prices and quotations come from named sources and are linked in the article. Prices are checked on the date the piece is published and the date is stated, because prices move and stale numbers are worse than none.
Where I have not used a piece of hardware myself, I say so and work from the documented record instead of inventing an impression of it. Where something here is wrong, tell me and I will amend the article rather than quietly delete it.
There are no affiliate links on this site, and no manufacturer has any input into what appears here. Where a review covers a brand whose product name resembles this site's name, that is a coincidence of naming and nothing more — see the note in the footer.
